Nature in the lead for styling and in the design of fashion, cosmetics and interior object.


We have all started to love nature.

For many, it’s been the only possibility to go out. There was nothing else to do to free yourself from the place you were locked down in. We have started seeing its beauty. Its power. How we can relax with nature.


This movement will manifest itself in the fashion industry, magazines and cosmetics industry. Nature as a guide and inspiration for innovation in styling. Not only that, but it will become a more appreciated option for shoots for magazines and labels.

1 Nature works with many styles. We have observed this throughout the history of styling.

2 Nature is a practical solution for shooting. We are limited in availability of locations as well as possibilities for traveling for shoots. Nature is an accessible resource that allows us to keep physical distance from one another.

3 Nature hasn’t been a big theme in shoots in the recent decades, so there are a lot of fresh new developments and innovation possible within this theme.



This trend will also apply for the furniture and interior decorating industry. Furniture shoots in nature are a great option. People are increasingly moving to the countryside

(See post 003 https://www.theladyinblu.com/post/outdoor-balconies-gardens) and this counter-urbanization will inspire a “country” style, that is much more contemporary and modern than current countryside or rural styles. A World After style will evolve, with for example Jugendstil and Art Deco influences, combined with technology such as 3d printing. Again, this combines perfectly with nature shoots.


Nature will also feature in the design of fashion, cosmetics and interior object.


Nature will also feature in other elements such as wallpaper and fabrics, in the design of interior objects themselves. That makes an even more interesting opportunity for these products that include nature elements; styling, the presentation; with nature.

Another opportunity: re-Launch / re-touch your dead stock

Re-touch it with nature, by embroidering flowers or birds on it. Then display it in nature.

For cosmetics:

nature is a great way to create new lines with existing colour palettes. In cosmetics, an industry I have extensive experience in, packaging is traditionally black. And although it symbolizes luxury, there is more in the world than black. We have designed 3D cosmetic packaging with flowers and birds. (Note: 3D printing of this concept is still complex as it is multi-colour, although this will soon be possible. Alternatively, there are more conventional ways to produce it) Cosmetic packaging with birds and flowers can be a starting point, the gateway for a multitude of other innovations such as embossing your pressed powder, with reusable flower pouches.
